She even joined Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefers (earned a Platinum Record for her singing on Son of a Son of a Sailor). Penny is also the founder and director of "SummerSongs West" and "WinterSongs West", a song camp I've attended as teacher and coach over the last 5 years. Freindships, music, joy, play time and writing time is a huge part of the community of songwriters and friends I’ve come to know through the camps and through Penny. The camps happen every January and June in Cambria, CA. If you're a beginner, intermediate, or pro writer, I recommend it. The concert is a rare NoCal appearance for Penny. "Mostly Concert and Song Swap", plus some 'Inside The Songwriting" commentary and perspective by Penny, myself, and a few other freinds TBA - the "Pilgrim Chair" will be in play throughout the night. Pickers and listeners can then also hang around afterward and dive into a group jam and song swap. We’ll turn down the lights, get more muddy.

Wed Dec 28th, I'm heading back down to Wine & Song to host the show! So, anyway, Brad went straight to the bottom of the barrel, saw I was gigless in December, and asked if I'd like to cover for him while he's out traveling. Well I always say hell yes to making music with friends, wine, and golf. Line up is pending, but Kim A. Michalowski will do a few, Corrina Carter too, Tim Fleming on pedal steel. It's mushy at the moment, but I expect there will be a few familiar faces making their way to the stage for cameos and sitting in.
