Been a busy Fall, more to come! Here's the latest in gigs, indie films, and parades. If you don't see me playing near you, it's because I don't have a gig there… host a house concert in your living room, garage, barn, yard, vintage bus, blimp hangar. If there is a venue near you, let me know and bring a gaggle of people with you. It's also a good idea to get with the Facebook thing ( www.facebook.com/mudpuddlemusic ) - I'm always posting events on my FB Wall short notice that are otherwise missing on these emailers and the web site calendar.

Sun Nov 9 - Puddle Jam 2-5pm - Sunday afternoon Mudpuddle Shop jam in the works, no RSVPs, come and go between 2-5pm. Swap tunes, and make stuff up. Use shop guitars, keyboard, snare (brushes only). Tues Nov 11th - 2nd Tuesdays - Monthly "Songs In Progress" At The Mudpuddle Shop Bring your half songs and ideas, throw spaghetti at the wall with other writers, generate new ideas, play a little, talk songwriting, maybe have pizza delivered to the shop. BYO. 7-9pm, $10-20 sliding, or give what you can. It's a "Peer to Peer" hangout for songwriters wanting to bounce songs and ideas off each other. Very friendly, casual, no strict protocol to how they go, no RSVP required, drop in. Sat Nov 16 - "Weekend King"" Indie Film - 4pm Matinee at Edison Theater in Niles.  "Weekend King" showing at The Edison Theater, next door to the Mudpuddle Shop. Indie film, romantic comedy, much of it filmed around Niles, including The Vine in Niles, The Essanay Cafe, Mudpuddle Shop, Joe's Corner, Belvoir Springs Hotel, with a few local characters doing cameos too. A Dot-Commer buys a bankrupt town in rural Utah (Niles is perfect as the fictional town of "New Spring, UT" :-)). It's a feature length film. McNevin has 5 songs in the sound track and a cameo as a silent love sick bartender in Charlie Chaplin hat. Some of the Crew and Cast will be there too. Likely Mudpuddle Shop Party afterward, next door to The Edison Theater. The Edison is a Silent Film Theater, built in 1913. Seats 100. These indie film nights are rare, come and hear a talkie! $8 members /$10 non-members. $1 popcorn, $1 ice-cream, and Wine available.  37395 Niles Blvd Fremont CA 94536. Thur Nov 20 - Mission Coffee - "Abode" Benefit in Fremont, helps the homeless in Fremont and beyond, severel artists will do a couple/few songs each "hootenanny showcase style", 7-9pm.   Mission Coffee Phone and address:   510-623-6920  151 Washington Blvd. Fremont, CA 94539.  You can donate online, or volunteer. Fri Nov 21 - Dublin, CA - Monthly "Wine Night", private concert. 

Sat Nov 22 - Monterey Bay/Watsonville/Corralitos.  7:30-10pm In Carralitos/Watsonville there is a nice little concert series at the Corralitos Cultural Center. This is cobill w/ McNevin, Bev Barnett & Greg Newlon, and MC/host Michael Gaither. Corralitos Cultural Center - 127 Hames Road, Watsonville CA.  $10-$20 suggested donation. Sun Nov 23 - St. Nicks Of Niles "Giving Hope" benefit at Nile Cafe, 4-9pm St. Nick's of Niles 5th annual "Giving Hope" holiday party at The Nile Cafe - Music, eats, vino. The bash benefits City Of Fremont's "Giving Hope Program", helping the less fortunate around Fremont during the holidays with custom gift baskets. McNevin & The Spokes, Los Horribles, and other special guests, good food by The Nile Cafe, wine and beer provided. Casual open seating inside, and a a sidewalk hang in front too. Come and go anytime, No RSVP required. $20 is just the suggested donation, but give what you can, it adds up. All month you can drop by the Nile Cafe and donate. Fri Nov 28 - Niles Annual Tree Lighting Parade & Mudpuddle Show 6pm-9pm- $25 a seat, it sells out. The Perfect viewing of 60 Floats, horses, dancers, bands, giant balloons, cars, Santa, etc It is. a true Mayberry experience. Parade lasts about 45 minutes, then we go inside with our hot chocolate and have a short one-set concert. There is an optional jam/swap with The Horribles, for those who want to go a little bit later. Mudpuddle shop chairs are placed on the sidewalk the night before parade to reserve the sidewalk seating. Good idea to get into Niles by 5pm Friday, 5:30 latest. Niles Blvd is closed to traffic after 3:30, decent parking on the side streets about then. Grab dinner or drinks at The Vine, Broncho Billys, CiCi's italian, Mr. Mikey's Deli, Nile Cafe. If dinner is a challenge for later arrivals, Broncho Billy's pizza on the sidewalk or inside shop is an option.

Sat Nov 29 - McNevin & McClellan at Cellar Door in Pleasanton 7:30-10:30    Patrick McClellan is back in the band! Usually a few other  "Spokes" sitting in too :)) It's always fun, this place is very casual, fun crowd, good wines, flat breads, and cheese plates. "Bright Blue Gorilla" are old friends Robyn Rosenkrantz and Michael Glover. Musicians and film making duo - meet them on their movie & concert tour, they've been showcasing their film in movie houses all over the globe! They have two gigs in Niles on the same weekend - a Mudpuddle Shop concert Dec 5th, and their Indie film "Go With Le Flo" screens at The Edison Theater as a 4pm Sunday matinee, Dec 7th.
